The world’s only superhero museum — located in Elkhart — is slated for a Monday night appearance on the Discovery Channel’s Fast N Loud
The Hall of Heroes Museum returns to television on Monday night and is looking to spend more time there.
Museum curator Allen Stewart will be featured on the Discovery Channel show Fast N Loud at 9 p.m., along with the museum’s 1965 Shelby Cobra, which was used in the first Iron Man movie. You may recall Iron Man crash-landed on the car, which was donated to the museum shortly after it was bought by a collector.
The appearance is the Hall of Heroes' fifth on a TV program. Stewart uses the opportunities to promote both the museum and the community of Elkhart to a wider audience of potential tourists.
However, Stewart says he has higher hopes for the Hall of Heroes’ TV presence than what he’s managed so far.
Stewart and some of the Hell of Heroes staff recently finished filming the pilot for their own reality series, which Stewart plans to shop around to several channels. He hopes to find a distribution deal and create an opportunity to put Elkhart on TV every week.
He hopes increased awareness for the museum will eventually foster an even bigger reputation within the comic book and superhero community, bring more people to town and make it easier to expand the museum into a larger facility next year.
This is just part of a busy month for the superhero museum, which includes a presence at this weekend’s Grand Rapids Comic Con and the annual Hall of Villains Super Villain Haunted House, which will be open from 7 to 9 p.m. Oct. 16, 17, 23 and 24. Admission is $6 per person.
