About The Author

Tommie is a news anchor for Michiana's Morning News in South Bend, Indiana. He has worked in radio since Halloween of 1988. It was a poor vocational choice, sure, but he was very young when he made it. At the very least it has likely been more stable than his other favorite option, Bass Guitarist, would have been.

He has been writing fiction since he was a teenager, starting and failing to complete at least a score of novels before finally finishing The Christmas Project in 1991. Sadly, that book is horrible and no one is allowed to read it. Since he doesn't count that one, he completed his first novel, Mulligan, in 2006. It was published in 2010 when he was finally told to quit tinkering with it by someone with a firmer grasp of the English language.

Tommie is married to The Beloved Kim, and father to Skylar and Emily, who grew up far too quickly. He and Kim have an indifferent cat named Princess Ivy and a little Yorkie named Duchess who distracts him when he's writing with her tiny rubber soccer ball, which is of course the most important thing on the planet. Neither animal was given their incredibly pretentious name by Tommie or Kim (both were rescues).

Kim, incidentally, is the unsung heroine of his creative process, and without her...he doesn't manage to put these books together at all.

He likes scotch and Guinness, like all good-hearted people. He usually writes to Pink Floyd, The Ramones, and the Dropkick Murphys. He has also spent time in recent years as a food blogger for Flavor 574, a Chicago Blackhawks writer for Federated Media, and a writer for The Elkhart Truth newspaper. He's the host of Item, a weekly, non-award-winning podcast on GooglePlay, iTunes, AudioBoom, and Player dot FM among others.

He has a decidedly one-sided relationship with the Chicago Blackhawks, who have actually spurned him in an official capacity.

He has never intentionally eaten mustard.
