A share (copied from Facebook)

Updated: Jan 14, 2020

Only a few of you have been made aware of this up to this point, but The Beloved Kim has been dealing with a somewhat serious health issue this month.

Since the beginning of December she's been stuck at home for the most part, unable to work, and very unsteady on her feet with horrible dizziness. She's had difficulty eating and after a few days of dealing with it we scheduled an MRI to see what it might show.

It turns out Kim has three cavernous malformations...irregular blood vessels in her brain. There is one on either side of her head, and a third that is what's called a Brain Stem Cavernoma. That one, which is buried pretty deep on the brain stem, has been bleeding and causing her symptoms. A neurosurgeon says her issue back in the spring that was diagnosed as a bels palsy was likely actually the first bleed. Her issues now are the result of a second bleed.

A third would likely present itself as something far worse, so we will have a consultation with another surgeon in Indy at the end of January to see what the timetable might look like to remove it.

The surgery for this will be tricky, and traumatic, and difficult to recover from. The cavernoma is surrounded by very sensitive tissue. Recovery will take months.

Kim is unable to work right now: she's can't drive, move herself around steadily, or even concentrate on tasks that require a lot of focus. If you don't see much of either one of us around in the foreseeable future, either in public or here online...this is why. She and I will do our best to keep you posted in 2020, which promises to be a very busy and challenging year.

We also intend to kick the year's ass.

Thank you for your thoughts and kind words, and most importantly your love. Happy New Year from the Clossons.
