Hats Off To Larry

Three CDs worth of the music loved most by the guy we all loved.

Hello, family member.

When we sat together for the meal after the service for Larry in February, Joni approached me and asked me to put together a CD of Larry's favorite music. She wanted me to make copies for everyone in time for the 2019 Family Reunion, something we could all listen to and have to remember him by.

The song list, pared down from the initial list of more than 100 songs, still stretched out to three CDs by the time I was done. I've been making mix tapes since I was a kid, but this was the important one. I hope you enjoy it.

The list was pieced together through a combination of combing through his vinyl LPs and CDs, noticing who was in the collection the most, and conversations about music I'd had with Larry over the years. Kim and Sharon helped me zero in on the songs that meant the most to him out of the ones I was working with, and they made plenty of other meaningful changes to the list.

For the young people in the family, understand this: While it's true I oversee five different podcasts for the radio stations and post them online all the time...I have little to no knowledge of how Spotify works. So you are stuck with CDs. If one of you decides to turn this set of songs into a Spotify list so you can listen to it that way, get me a link for it and I'll put that link up on this page. You're lucky I didn't really mess with you and make cassettes...

NOTE: All 25 sets of these discs that I made for the reunion were burned on my laptop. And I didn't have time to listen to all 75 of them when they were done. I did, however, save the burn files. So if you ended up getting a bad CD with skips in it that needs to be replaced, give me call or email me at tealsea@gmail.com. I'll get a good CD out to you.

That's it. The song list, which was too long to include in the CDs, is below. Have a glass of Jim Beam for Dad and enjoy the music.

Love, Tommie
